چکیده
Bismuth–lithium alloys are considered as primary candidates for the reductive extraction step of on-line reprocessing a molten salt reactor fuel. The corrosion behavior pure metals and nickel-based was studied in liquid Bi–Li (5 mol.%) alloy at 650 °C. tantalum, molybdenum, corrosion-resistant VDM® Alloy C-4, Hastelloy® G-35®, KhN62M, 59 were prospective materials this metal media. rates determined by gravimetric method well chemical analysis products alloy. Microstructure composition samples containing after tests evaluated using inductively coupled plasma–atomic emission spectroscopy, X-ray fluorescence analysis, scanning electron microscopy, energy dispersive spectroscopy. Metallic tantalum molybdenum do not chemically interact with alloy; rate these is only solubility medium. Ta Mo °C 0.09 0.07 mm/year, respectively. Nickel subjected to severe due dissolution nickel bismuth. Alloys type cannot be used such an environment.

Corrosion of Metals and Alloys
Although all metals are subjected to the general oxidation reaction (I), the tendencies to ionize differ from metal to metal. When two metals are exposed to an aquenous environment and release electrons according to reaction (I) , an electric potential is induced the standard value of which can be measured when the metals are in 1-molar solutions of their own salts at a predetermined temperatur...

This work deals with atmospheric corrosion to assess the degrading effects of air pollutants on ferrous and non-ferrous metals and alloys, which are mostly used as engineering materials. An exposure study was conducted in the Tuticorin port area located on the east coast of South India, in the Gulf of Mannar with Sri Lanka to the southeast. Common engineering materials, namely mild steel, galva...
متن کاملNanoporous Metals by Alloy Corrosion: Formation and Mechanical Properties
577 Abstract Nanoporous metals prepared by the corrosion of an alloy can take the form of monolithic, millimeter-sized bodies containing approximately 1015 nanoscale ligaments per cubic millimeter. The ligament size can reach down to the very limits of stability of nanoscale objects. The processes by which nanoporous metals are formed have continued to be fascinating, even though their study in...

An intermetallic nickel-titanium alloy, 60NiTi (60wt%Ni, 40wt%Ti), is shown to be a promising candidate tribological material for space mechanisms. 60NiTi offers a broad combination of physical properties that make it unique among bearing materials. 60NiTi is hard, electrically conductive, highly corrosion resistant, readily machined prior to final heat treatment, and is non-magnetic. Despite i...
متن کاملMagnetic and Electronic Properties of Liquid Transition Metals and Alloys
We have measured the magnetic susceptibility, the Hall coefficient and the electrical resistivity of liquid transition metals Fe, Co and Ni alloyed with normal metals. Up to now the investigated alloys can be divided into two groups according to the behaviour of the magnetic susceptibility. The typical behaviour is represented by the liquid alloys of Co-Ge and Au-Ni. In the first group the magn...
